5 Hard-To-Admit Reasons You Are Not Happy As A Man
Dissecting the core needs of a man
The advice you are used to receiving about happiness has nothing to do with whether you’re a man or woman.
The problem is that men and women tend to face different issues.
As a man, I’ve noticed that whenever I am not happy, it usually comes from specific problems. These problems are hard to admit for many.
But, if you can admit and fix these problems, you will have higher levels of happiness!
Let’s explore these core problems!
1. Lack of confidence
Admitting you lack confidence as a man is difficult and embarrassing. Most men will never end up admitting this. And so, they never improve their confidence.
The reason men have trouble admitting a lack of confidence is because, since we were young, we were told that women love men with high confidence.
Admitting a lack of confidence is like admitting you’re not a man.
But, if you truly want to tackle this problem, you will need to admit it’s a problem and then fix it.
A lack of confidence will affect everything you do.
Doesn’t matter whether it’s work, physical activities or finding a partner - A lack of confidence will hurt you.
This is often the source of unhappiness for men.
2. Bottling in your emotions
Once again, just like a lack of confidence, showing emotion is often seen as weak if you are a man.
The problem with bottling in your emotions is that you end up failing to identify the source of any problem you are having. You never really end up knowing or understanding yourself.
The result? You’re a weak man…
Ironic. Isn’t it?
Find your balance and find control. That’s the best way to optimize for happiness.
3. You’re not physically active
Men have energy they need to let out. Sometimes, it’s just because you need to push out some physical energy, but it could also be pent-up sexual energy.
Physical exercise is a good way to get out whatever you’re holding in.
Aside from that, there are all the obvious benefits of being physically active.
You know, looking good, feeling good, being healthy, etc.
Simply put, you will struggle to be happy if your body hates you.
4. You seek validation from women
You should never rely on anyone else for happiness. A lot of men have the issue where they rely on validation from women to make them happy.
This can be quite satisfying at first. Especially when you did not get validated by women for years, and then you finally cracked the code.
This is a trap though. It’ll lead you down a road of unhappiness.
The only person from whom you need validation is yourself. And even then, you’re just here for the ride.
5. A lack of accountability
The best way to improve yourself is to be accountable for your actions.
If you screw up, so what?
You’re allowed to make mistakes. Just don’t be so stubborn that you can’t admit you screwed up.
If you do this, you’ll never improve, and happiness often comes from continuous, never-ending progress.
You want to see this progress, and you want to be happy, so it is time to hold yourself accountable.
Closing Thoughts
There are plenty more complex reasons that you might not be happy. You could also get more specific about those complex reasons.
But, chances are, the root cause of your unhappiness ties back into one of these 5 reasons, if not more than one.
Do a deep dive on yourself and work on where you are screwing up.
You’ll find you become much happier.
