3 Ways To Make 2025 Your Best Year Ever
A guide to self-improvement and change in the new year
It’s easy to underestimate the change you can bring to your life in a year.
It’s also easy to create that change — if you are committed to the cause.
1 year ago, I was my old business partner’s assistant. Today, I own what was named one of the best new restaurants in my city, with that same business partner.
A lot can happen in a year.
2025 will be my best year ever and it can be yours too.
This is how to do it.
Re-create yourself
I know people love to say “never change”, but they’re giving bad advice. Change is required to grow.
We humans are always changing, so let’s focus on changing for the better.
The nice part about changing is all knowledge is out there for free. So, whatever you want to change into, you can figure it out and make it happen.
This is something Robert Greene talks about in 48 Laws of Power. You need to re-create yourself from time to time.
Perhaps in 2024, you were known as the party guy, but next year you could switch it completely and be the guy who got absolutely ripped out of nowhere.
A few years ago, I made the change from being a club promoter to the guy who reads nonstop. This was a necessary change because I wanted to leave the nightlife scene and get into other industries.
Sure enough, it got me in front of awesome people.
Since I am newly single, I have been forced to recreate myself for 2025. This gives me a unique opportunity.
Last year I was focusing on being a loving boyfriend while also re-identifying myself as a “restaurant guy” and someone who loves learning.
This year, I’m going to start to divest into new industries as a “serial entrepreneur”. Additionally, since I am single, I have a lot of extra love to give and will do my best to share this with others. Essentially, I’ll reconnect myself with my “be-love” philosophy.
A great example of someone who re-creates themself is Elon Musk. He went from being an “internet guy” with Zip2 and PayPal to being the guy who can make any business turn to gold (Tesla, SpaceX, Nerualink, etc).
What will you re-create yourself into?
You can pick anything.
Narrow your focus
A mistake a lot of people make is to try to do too many things at once. I’ve been there before too.
At one point I was trying to meditate for hours a day, while reading a book a week, taking multiple online courses, working out for 2 hours a day, and running my businesses, along with many other things.
I was doing too much.
Because of that, I wasn’t doing any of it excellently and my progress was lacking.
If I had narrowed my focus to just 3 or 4 things, I would have made much more progress in those areas.
It’s good to categorize areas you want to improve.
Health/fitness
Relationship
Finance
Self
Try to pick one specific thing you want to improve on in each category.
For example:
Relationship: Go on bi-weekly dates with your girlfriend
Finance: Invest $500 a month into a stock of choice
Health/fitness: Lose 10 pounds of fat
Self: Read 1 book a week
By narrowing your focus, you will have a far better chance of achieving what you set out to do. Just make sure you pick a big enough goal!
Cut the bad habits
Everyone always talks about implementing good habits, and you should, but the easier thing to start with is to cut out your bad habits.
The new year is a great time to reflect on the previous 12 months and identify what you were doing wrong.
Perhaps you ate too much junk food, skipped sleep, or drank too much.
Whatever it is, cut it out.
Saving a few hundred dollars a month can add up over the year (not to mention 20). Losing a few extra pounds will add years to your life and increase your confidence.
It’s time to create change and cutting your bad habits is the easiest way to start.
Closing thoughts
The new year is the perfect chance to put your mind in the right place and get moving in the right direction.
Take the time to decide exactly who you want to be and then implement the necessary changes to get yourself there.
Now's the time! That “new year, new me” magic is in the air!
