4 Steps to Help You Improve Your Life Before the End of 2024
What’s your next move?
Your life can improve dramatically before 2025.
It’s not too late to make some serious changes before the end of the year. Don’t follow in the footsteps of those who wait until the New Year to improve themselves.
It doesn’t have to be hard either.
But, it will require you to commit to the decision to improve your life. This decision is one you will have to make every morning for the rest of the year.
If that doesn’t sound too hard, keep reading for my 4 steps to help you improve your life before the end of the year!
1. Pick a very specific goal
2025 is coming fast. If you try chasing too many goals, you won’t achieve any of them.
So, you need to pick a very specific goal and make that your main focus.
You’re likely thinking it is too hard to narrow down your goals.
Don’t worry, just ask yourself the following questions:
Which goal is possible to achieve before the end of the year if you dedicate the majority of your time towards achieving it?
Which goal would be the most satisfying to achieve?
Which goal has been lingering the longest?
We all have a goal we’ve been dying to achieve sitting in the back of our heads. It bothers us because we still haven’t achieved it.
I recommend going for that one.
Pick that goal.
2. Break down what you need to do to get there
This process is very similar to how you achieve any goal. If you simply say, “I need to achieve this”, you will have a damn hard time figuring out how to achieve it.
You need to create a step-by-step process of how you will achieve this goal and set the milestones you will hit along the way.
Let’s use an example of reading 10 books before the end of the year.
This means you need to read 1 book (or so) a week. If your average book is 300 pages, that means you need to read 42 pages a day.
But, there is a good chance you will miss a day or two, so I would recommend rounding it up to 50 pages just incase.
Now you’ve broken down your goal into a daily actionable step.
You also have broken it down into something you can celebrate each week - finishing a book.
You can go through this process with any goal and it’ll not only make it more enjoyable to achieve, it’ll make it more likely that you do achieve it.
3. Post publicly about your special goal
Nothing will motivate you to achieve your goal like telling the whole world what you’re doing.
Why?
Because you’ll look like a fool if you don’t achieve it and that’ll motivate the best of us.
If you don’t like posting on social media, announce it in your group chats.
If you don’t have group chats, tell a family member who you talk to often.
The point is you need to make the world hold you accountable.
If we go back to the reading example, you can also post weekly, or daily, to show you are making progress toward your goal.
People will tend to message you congratulating you on your progress - it’s motivating.
After I finish a book, I post it with a rating and a brief review. I’ve been doing this for 3 years now. It’s gotten to the point where if I don’t post for a while, people will message me asking if I’m still reading.
This has helped me create a healthy reading habit which propelled me to read over 50 books last year.
4. Act on your goal every day for the rest of the year
As I mentioned above, it is important to make a daily actionable step for you to take.
You need to make your work towards this goal a daily ritual. That is how you turn this into a habit and that is how you will achieve your goal.
If it’s reading, make a ritual out of reading and turn it into a habit.
If your goal is to lose weight… Make sure to do some sort of physical activity every single day.
If your goal is to connect more with friends… Make sure to set a specific time you reach out to friends to see how they’re doing.
There is a way to do this with every single goal.
The only way you will achieve the goal on the short timeline you have is if you make this your overwhelming desire and work towards it every single day.
It works. Trust me.
Can’t stop, won’t stop!
It’s 2025 and you achieved your goal! Congrats!
Don’t stop now!
Now that you’ve created this healthy habit, why not keep going? Imagine where you’ll be at the end of 2025!
This process you implemented to achieve your goals in a short timeline can be copied and pasted many times over… for the rest of your life.
You will become a productive machine!
