Believe it or Not… You Don’t Need to Make Millions
You must define winning before you can win
All of your problems will be cured the moment you make millions of dollars.
Or, so you believe…
Ask any rich person.
First, they believed that making 1 million dollars would fix everything, and then it didn’t.
After that, their number moved to 5 million dollars, and then 10, then 25, and so on.
The truth is, you don’t need to make millions. What matters is that you make enough to buy yourself freedom – Whatever that may cost.
You can do a lot with $100,000
I’m willing to guess if you’re reading this, you are not a multi-millionaire. You are probably making between $40,000 and $200,000 a year and would like to make more.
What if tomorrow, you got a bonus of $100,000?
Would that change your life, and if so, how?
If that happened to me, I could pay off all my debts, go on a trip with my girlfriend, and invest a little more into my business.
That would be sweet.
So, why would I need millions?
Unless you are trying to retire ridiculously early, you don’t need millions of dollars right now.
Even if you are trying to retire ridiculously early, I would argue money isn’t the issue, your job is.
Forget the millions, focus on finding a job you love.
A million dollars is 10, $100,000 bonuses. (duh, Nik)
If I got a million-dollar bonus, I’d be able to do a lot of crazy things. I won’t lie, I would love that.
But, is it really necessary? $100,000 is a lot.
You’re being programmed
At the risk of diving down into a deep rabbit hole and being labelled as a conspiracy theorist (although I’m sure you’d love to read that), I’m going to tell you, that you’re being programmed.
Not necessarily by the CIA (they’re always up to something), but by brilliant marketers and hungry influencers.
They want you to want millions so that you can chase after expensive things.
If you are chasing after useless Rolex watches, Louis Vuitton purses and Ace of Spades champagne, then you are likely to spend more money.
Thanks to influencers who rent Lambos for their TikTok and are sponsored by some watch brand to flex on you, you now believe that everyone else your age has what you don’t have… millions.
Now, you’re hungry. You enter the grind mindset because you want millions.
You believe that once you get those millions that everyone else has, you’ll be happy. You’ll be satisfied and your desires will be met.
But, quickly you’ll begin to realize it's not easy to make millions. You start to lose your “grind” and instead of going back to how you were before, you become depressed.
Because you let desire take over, you feel like something is missing.
Little do you know, those desires were never yours to begin with. They were the desires that were programmed into you by influencers who wish they owned Lambos instead of having to rent them, and by marketers who want you to make impulse purchases.
And while we are being honest… Those same marketers know that 2% of you will make an impulse purchase with your credit card to buy that Rolex watch or Louis Vuitton purchase.
They know that your desire will win 2% of the time and they don’t care that you can’t afford it straight up so you borrow money to purchase.
In fact, not only do they know that they are betting on it. That’s because they know that it’s not rich people who are buying these products… it’s the ones that wish they were.
So, they buy those products to make others believe they are rich, and then post pictures online and flex at the club.
Thus, continuing the cycle of convincing more people just like you to chase millions in hopes of buying “happiness” all just to buy products they can’t afford.
Define winning
No, no, no! I’m not telling you to stop working hard and stop chasing millions. After all, I’m doing the same thing.
All I’m getting at is you should define what winning looks like to you. It’s likely that winning is not making millions.
This is one of the many reasons why I preach improving your self-knowledge.
If you do not know what winning is to you, you will never win. If you do not know yourself, you will never know what winning is.
Is winning buying 10 Ferraris, a yacht and a private jet?
Or, is winning having a job, wife, and home you love?
What would make you happier?
The only wrong thing to do is to try and live a dream that was fabricated for you by a fake Instagram account run by someone overseas.
Closing remarks
You need to dream, but those dreams need to be your own. It is far too easy to believe you want everything in this world and to buy it, you need millions of dollars.
Dive deep inside yourself and define what winning means to you.
If that means making millions, great! But, if that means living a comfortable life where freedom and love are your priority, then be honest with yourself, because millions are not what is required.
